Marriage bliss
Well, the day is over. I’ve witnessed almost all of the couples who wed today, or renewed their vows, and it was such an honor and pleasure. I wasn’t sure if this year’s event could top last year, but it definitely gave it a run for its money.
From Cheryl and David to Lynsey and Alex, each couple seemed in love and so happy. They all came to commit themselves to one another. All 20 of them, including Debra and Scotty who re-said "I do."
Sheila and Jeremy Emerson have been together for 11 years. They've got children and thought a 5 p.m. Valentine's Day wedding was the time. Sheila said she was nervous, but glad she could exchange vows in front of loved ones.Their plans once they leave here: Wal-Mart for family portraits. What a better opportunity since everyone is dressed up.
Thank you for hanging out with me and us here at the Register of Deeds Office. I hear there are already plans for next year, and as long as I'm around, and if I'm invited back, I'm sure I'll be here to bring the wedding bliss of those to come.
PS: I'm working on a video, so be sure to check out http://www.hickoryrecord.com tomorrow for a look at some of what happened today.
