Our seventh wedding
Seven couples have now wed at the Catawba County Courthouse, and I believe we have about 12 or 13 more to go. This afternoon really gets busy, with back-to-back appointments between 2:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - the last scheduled appointment.
The latest couple was Carrie and Elliott Adkins. The two have been together for seven years so they knew this was right. That still didn’t prevent the couple from being a little nervous, but after it was all said and done, they were both happy. Carrie said the family might go out to eat after this.
See, that’s one thing I love about this event. There is no pressure to make this such a big ordeal. There is nothing wrong with a small, low-key wedding.Some of the folks today have been in jeans and sweaters. Others are dressed up, either in Valentine’s Day colors and others in white formal dresses. It’s what they want it to be. I love it.
