Three more I Dos

And the award for biggest smiles so far goes to Anthony Forney and Katharine Burgess. The two just got married here at the courthouse. They both smiled during the entire ceremony. Katherine wanted a nice quiet wedding, and her mom couldn’t have been more proud of her daughter.

Mom Janet Collins also got married on Valentine’s Day in 1976. That’s one reason why Katharine chose this day to tie the knot, Collins said. “I think it’s just great,” Collins said. “They can’t forget their anniversary.” That seems to be the theme.

Before the Forneys, Julie and Donnie Killian tied the knot. The two were both under the weather, as was Julie’s daughter who brought strep throat home from school. A little cold didn’t stop the two from saying “I Do.”

Another couple is in the middle of exchanging vows now. They asked for no photographs or interviews, which is completely understandable. One of the great things about the courthouse weddings is the low-key yet romantic atmosphere. What a great day so far. I just can’t help but smile as the ceremonies continue. It’s only getting started. Five down and 18 more to go.
